What is a rotomolded case?

2026 06/12

Rotomolded cases are primarily made of carbon fiber composite materials. They are widely used in aerospace, medical, sports and leisure, and other fields due to their lightweight, ablation resistance, and impact resistance. With the improvement of China's independent design and manufacturing capabilities for carbon fiber-related processes and equipment, the domestic production of carbon fiber is expected to increase in the future, and the application of carbon fiber rotomolded cases is becoming a major trend. These cases are suitable for storing training equipment, instruments, small devices, emergency supplies, and outdoor operations.

The carbon fiber case adopts a "sandwich" core structure, with materials such as aluminum honeycomb used as the core layer and carbon fiber sheets as the surface skin, making it sturdy and wear-resistant. The rotomolded case uses one-piece molding technology, ensuring excellent sealing, high toughness, high resilience, and resistance to compression deformation. When used for equipment, it must not only be easy to carry, transport, and rapidly deploy in emergencies but also provide reliable protection against shocks, rain, extreme heat, and other harsh environments during movement.
Military Government Case
We once developed a carbon fiber transport case for a client. The case was made of carbon fiber composite material and required embedded aluminum parts for specific use. Compared with similar cases made of other materials, the carbon fiber case achieved an average weight reduction of 30%, while maintaining good sealing performance, shock resistance, and even bullet resistance. The sealing strip is made of rubber, which is strong, low-wear, and offers excellent oxidation resistance, good elasticity, resistance to compression deformation, as well as resistance to ozone, salt spray, and corrosion.

1.Made of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) material, low-carbon and odorless, with excellent UV resistance.
2.Thanks to the rotomolding process, compared with traditional injection molding, the thickness at edges and corners is about 20% greater than that of other areas, resulting in excellent impact resistance.
3.The case’s sealing strip is made of rubber—strong, low-wear, with excellent oxidation resistance, good elasticity, resistance to compression deformation, and resistance to ozone, salt spray, and corrosion.
4.The case’s latches, handles, and hinges are made of stainless steel as standard, ensuring no rust.
5.Suitable for medical instruments, photographic equipment, small devices, repair tools, emergency supplies, large equipment, and materials. Its performance exceeds the limits of ordinary transport, enabling use in airdrops, sea transport, high/low temperature environments, various rainy/snowy conditions, and humid environments. Features include light weight, quick deployment, easy carrying, strong impact resistance, cushioning and shock absorption, waterproof and moisture-proof properties, and even flotation for rescue. It is also suitable for outdoor recreational activities such as camping, outings, and fishing.
Military Government Case 4
Whether in petrochemicals, aviation, marine, power nuclear, communications, medical, public security, firefighting, research institutes, or industrial fields, there is a need to store expensive, high-precision instruments or critical components of production equipment. These require high-quality equipment cases to ensure that such instruments, equipment, and components are not damaged by any external factors.

Military supplies themselves have high safety requirements, and weapons, equipment, and food need better protection against moisture and damage. To maintain safe use, rotomolded cases, with their superior sealing and durability, ensure the safety of military weapons and equipment. Rotomolded cases are becoming increasingly common in the military industry today, providing better storage conditions for material management and logistical support in wartime.

Shock-Mounted Rack Case
The selection of shock-mounted rack cases is based on the actual rack unit (U) height required by the server, such as 2U, 3U, 4U, 5U, 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U, 16U, 20U, 23U, etc. If shock protection requirements are not high, a simple rack case can be chosen, which also provides waterproof protection, with lower weight and cost compared to a full shock-mounted rack case.
